"Nesting" Has Begun...

Hey everyone! Happy Spring!!

Well we're another month closer to the arrival of Baby Evans. :) I'm at 33 weeks and feeling every bit of it. I've been hit with the third trimester exhaustion stick, and man, when it hits, I'm out for a long, hard nap. Also, bouts of nausea have reentered my life, but thankfully, nothing as bad as the first trimester (knock on wood!). However, my new doctor says we're right on track, and Baby Evans and I are doing great!

Another bit of pregnancy that has hit me is nesting. Baby Evans' room went from empty to nearly complete in just the past few weeks (thanks to many of you!!!), and the process has been soooo fun!! Shane battled (and won) with setting up the crib and dresser set, which was first on the list.

Then, we began baby bargain shopping. Amazing the deals you can find if you dig around a bit.

A glider (loved by all, already) for $20. Just need to replace the cushions since they're not the most attractive design.

Stroller (gift from mi madre :), used infant carrier, and two car seat bases for $45. The colors are off, but well worth it for the deal!! I see TONS of walks/jogs in my future, as I'm already dreaming of my post-pregnancy workout plans. (Thanks, Mom!!)

Vibrating chair for $1.99!! (Thrift stores are amazing!!)

Plus, we went to a Just Between Friends consignment sale and purchased some necessities that would've cost close to $400 for only $79! I highly recommend this event for anyone expecting or has a young child. They take place all over the US, so look for one near you.

Also, we've received so many wonderful gifts from you all that I cannot wait to put to use, so THANK YOU!! You rock!!

In addition, we received the additional professional pictures from our photo shoot last month.

The necklace was a VERY special gift from my Dad at our wedding. When I was a kid, my Dad had a home-hobby of panning for gold. I asked him what he was going to do with the gold, and he said he was going to give it to me the day I walked down the aisle. Then, in the Fall of 2010 as I returned home from a trip to Baltimore to try on wedding dresses with my stepmom and sister, I lost a diamond earring that had also been a gift from my dad for my 21st birthday. My dad requested that I send him the lone earring. He then combined the two to create this beautiful masterpiece in which he presented to me just days before the wedding- a heart with the gold/diamond running through the center. It was an incredible surprise that makes me smile every time I wear it!

Although life is pretty quiet and simple for Shane and me these days, we have filled a few nights with some fun times. A few weeks ago we heard about a free concert on base that I could not pass up. For those of you who know me well, you know that Forrest Gump is one of my all-time favorite movies. So when I heard that the Lt. Dan Band was going to be playing, I rallied up the household to attend.

Shane and I kept joking about whether or not he would roll-up on stage in a wheelchair like his character from the movie, but he did not. However, the band did a great job with all their covers.

Also, Dave, Shane, and I attended a Sacramento Kings game the other week. Not the most exciting game, but it was a fun weeknight out and about.

Next weekend, Shane and I are planning one of two "babymoons," as we'll be road-tripping to Seattle to see some old Charleston friends that have also relocated to the West coast. Neither one of us has ever been, so we're re looking forward to sightseeing in a new city. Here's hoping my bladder does not make the 10-11 hour drive any longer than it has to be. Haha!

Other than that, we've got a childbirth class, a maternity tour, and bi-weekly doctor appointments to attend in the coming weeks. We're creeping upon crunch time!! Thankfully, Shane is around (and loving  non-active duty life) to help me stay sane and prepare for what shall come in May :)

Shane at work. :)

Hope you all are doing well!! Thanks, again, for all your love and support!! We love and miss you all!!

Love,

The Expanding Evans
