Final Expansion... :)

Last week we announced our exciting news... Baby Evans #3 is expected June 23, 2015!!

For those who missed it, here was our announcement picture:

A lot of people have said, "I thought you all were done after two?!?"
Short answer, "Yeah. Sorta." When we first started this whole parenthood journey, I had expressed that I'd like to have two of our own and adopt a third. However, after all wonderful (and yes, stressful) times that have come with our current two, we decided why not go for a final round of creating one more wild little Evans. We LOVE our little by-products beyond words, so why not create another piece of us?

They say when you know it's your final pregnancy, it's bittersweet. So far, it's been a bit too bitter for me to say it's been sweet. The nausea kicked in right away! It's an everyday battle, round the clock, and my doc thinks it's heightened with my exhaustion. Thankfully, I've not come face-to-face with the toilet or a trashcan, so I guess for that, it's sweet? ;)

Another bittersweet aspect is the fact that I'm already showing. I've been able to completely skip the "Oh, she looks like she's packing on some lbs these days!" phase of it. The bump just showed up.

My favorite part, so far, has been trying to explain to Kylie that she has another sibling on the way. She has picked up on it pretty quickly, giving my little bump kisses goodnight, steering clear of mommy's chocolate milk, and making little references here-and-there like "Mommy's baby in her belly." However, when I showed her the ultrasound pictures from my first doctor's appointment, she was anything but thrilled! She said, "No! No!" and started crying. She'll warm up, I hope.

Doctor said the baby looks great, so far! Definitely wasn't shy for the camera, either.

Like with Kylie, we're going to keep the gender a surprise. We figured since we have one of each, we're fine with whoever wants to join us. Plus, it was so fun not knowing because it makes the delivery that much more special!

Well that about wraps up the new expansion, so I'll leave ya with some snapshots of the last couple of weeks. Enjoy!

Family day at the park.

Our little daredevil!

Pure happiness.

She was so proud of her stache.

No words.

Lovely lunch date with my boys and Shane's mom.

Decided to spend some time getting crafty for the holidays.

I'm pretty happy for my first-go at a wreath.

Movie night with their friend Esme.

Shane and I found this little gem-of-a-couch at our favorite kid consignment event. They LOVE it!

Kylie enjoying craft time with mommy.

Finally, one of the many outtakes from the announcement photo shoot.

Have a happy, healthy Thanksgiving, everyone!!!

Fall is in the Air... :)

Happy Fall, everyone!

I don't know about you, but I'm SO excited that the Fall months and weather are finally here. It seemed like the summer heat was never going to end, but now I'm happily snuggled up in a big sweatshirt, pajama pants, and slippers. Ahhh.... :)

The past few months have come-and-gone with hardly a dull-moment. My counseling position is going really well and most days barely feel like work. My students (Sophomores and Seniors) are so much fun to work with, and everyday they do something that inspires me. Such a rewarding field!

Shane continues to stay busy with trips and house-husband duties. He's also taken up a new hobby- building! He just finished his first project, which was a table for his Big Green Egg. Possible side business in the making??

The kiddos are doing great, too! Kylie is definitely in full-blown "Terrible Twos," as most everything is a struggle or debate. However, her development is mind-blowing to us! She can count to 20, knows the days of the week and months, sings her ABCs, recognizes her name when written... I mean the list goes on. Just recently she made me realize how much of an Evans she is... she was talking to her Pop-Pop on the phone, discussing Halloween. When asked what she was going to wear for Halloween (which originally was my Minnie Mouse costume from my childhood--- she was SO excited), she replied with the smart-ass answer of "A costume!" Duh!?!? ;)

Her thoughts on potty-training. Haha!

Sammy is 15 months and every bit of a boy! He climbs. He tackles. He jumps. He falls (with a giggle). He has no fear! Yet he's still my sweet mama's boy. :)

In September, Shane had the opportunity to do some hardcore bonding with Sammy, as they flew back to Iowa for a wedding. They had such a great week, doing guy things, while Kylie and I enjoyed our girl time on the home-front.

Riding in the semi.

Loving the farm life!

Apparently he was quite the ladies man... :)

Meanwhile, back home, Kylie and I enjoyed a date night.

Best.date.ever!

We also treated ourselves to a pedicures. She did so well!!

Once the boys returned, it was silliness as usual! Our handsome princess? ;)

She now refers to herself, quite frequently, as the princess and BOSS of the house. Sadly, it's true. :(

Sharing at it's finest!

Another highlight of September was my big 3-0!! Shane did well! Such a memorable day!!

We also made sure to cash-in on a date night at...

...the drive-in! A first for me! So much fun!!

October has been filled with lots of excitement, too!

We took the kiddos to a local pumpkin patch, where they had a blast!

I think they all could've stayed on this the entire day!

Picking pumpkins!

What a little stud!

Thinking inside the box ;)

The many faces of dinner... :)

Just this past week, Shane, his mom, and I left the kiddos with a sitter to go see one of our favorite comedians... John Malaney! If you don't know his material, google "John Malaney SVU Ice T." Sums him up!

Finally, Halloween!! Halloween is by-far one of our favorite holidays, and this year was the first time we took the kids trick-or-treating. Picking out costumes for Kylie was easy... she chose from my childhood costumes, as shown.

Here I am as a kiddo. I'd say there is a LOT of me in each of the kiddos. Crazy!!

Kylie went with the rabbit. So cute! And when told to do a "trick" at a house, she happily obliged by hopping.

Sammy's missing his beanie, but he went as the cutest bum I've ever seen! And no work was done... just a smile and giggle.

What a goof!

She caught on quickly and had no fear asking for her candy. She even said "Thank you!" 90% of the time!

Makes my heart smile! :)

Well, that's all I've got for now. Hope you all enjoy the extra sleep tonight, as well as the Fall weather that surrounds you!
